“Young Innovators to Watch” Award Winners to be Acknowledged
On Stage During XTC Semi-Finals at CES 2017
Catapulting startups to the new frontier in innovation, the Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) is pleased to announce that revered technology veteran and long-time tech journalist Robin Raskin, founder of Living in Digital Times (LIDT), will be joining the team for the Semi-Finals at CES 2017, judging the applications in the Media category.
The Top 10 XTC semi-finalists will pitch their ventures live on-stage at CES in hopes of being one of three companies selected to move onto the final round taking place on Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island.
At CES, judge Robin Raskin will be joined on stage by the winners of the annual ‘Young Innovators to Watch’ awards competition, honoring students under the age of 20 at the forefront of STEAM innovation, for special recognition. Raskin will then announce the three Media vertical winners of XTC 2017.
“As a long-time tech journalist, I know that there’s nothing like validation for your startup efforts, and that’s what the Extreme Tech Challenge provides for its winners – to the max,” said Robin Raskin founder and president of Living in Digital Times, which produces conferences, exhibits and events annually at CES. “At CES each year, we showcase cutting-edge technology impacting every aspect of our daily lives, from our health and beauty, to fitness and wearables, to kids’ tech and digital money. Judging this competition is a great way for us to lend our expertise to the startup community.”
The winners will also be receiving a rare opportunity to speak at CES 2018, a prize graciously donated by Living in Digital Times.
The XTC Semi-Finals takes place on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. PST at Tech West, Venetian, Level 2, Bellini 2003. Living in Digital Times is the official sponsor of the 2017 Media category.
Before founding Living in Digital Times, Robin Raskin honed her tech chops at a variety of technology publications.
